What will happen at the Open Day?

We are following the Government and Public Health England’s guidance on coronavirus closely, and as this is an ever-changing situation, we can't say with certainty whether all of our upcoming events will take place on campus. If we're unable to run the Open Days on campus, we will provide online events instead.

Whether on campus or online, you'll get to attend course talks, Q&A sessions, campus tours, accommodation tours, library tours and talks about life at Salford. You'll also get to learn more about funding your studies and attend sessions on writing a personal statement.

If you are applying from overseas, our international office will tell you everything you need to know about the application process, entry requirements, post-study work visas and scholarships.

Campus tours

We're proud of our campus and our Open Days usually feature a host of student ambassadors leading campus tours throughout the day.

If our upcoming events take place online, we'll be offering online tours instead so that you can get a feel for our campus without leaving your front door.

Our location

Situated just 2km from Manchester city centre, we think we have the best of both worlds: plenty of green space around us with the hustle and bustle of the city just a 20-minute walk away. We also have great transport links, with our on-campus train station, Salford Crescent, connecting you to the city centre and beyond. Explore all the reasons why we love our city and get a taste for life as a student with us.

Open Day FAQs

Who can attend an Open Day?

Our October and November Open Days are primarily aimed at those interested in starting university in 2021.

What time does my event start?

Our Open Days normally run from 09:00 to 17:00, but you’ll receive more details after booking your place.

Can I bring family and friends?

Of course! Choosing a university is a big decision, so we’d absolutely encourage anyone who is supporting you to get involved and attend some of the sessions.

Do you have support for students with a disability?

You can let us know about your access requirements when you book onto our Open Days. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you. You will also be able to have a one-to-one appointment with our disability and wellbeing team on the day.

If you would like to check our campus for its accessibility, we have worked closely with AccessAble (the leading provider of access information for disabled people in the UK) to produce an assessment of our campus and facilities.

This work has provided detailed information about our access; find out more about their assessment of our campus and facilities.

Find out more about accessibility on campus or contact us on enquiries@salford.ac.uk.

Please contact disability and learner support for study related support.

An update on COVID-19

We are following the Government and Public Health England’s guidance on coronavirus closely, and as this is an ever-changing situation, we cannot currently say with certainty whether all of our upcoming events will be taking place on campus.

Once you have booked or registered your interest in any of our events we will email you with updates, so please keep a close eye on your emails.

If you are applying from overseas, you can find lots of useful information on our FAQ page for prospective international students.
