Undergraduate Open Days

Open Day sign on campus

If you’ve started thinking about your university choices, why not join our Online Open Day and find out more about studying with us?

Whilst we can't offer you the chance to visit us in person yet, you can join us on Saturday 20 June for an Online Open Day experience to find out what we have to offer. We know it's not the same as a face-to-face visit, but our online experience will allow you to explore the same activities all from the comfort of your home. You’ll be able to learn about our courses, find out about our accommodation, hear from some of our current students, understand how student finance works and much more.

What will happen at the Online Open Day?

Even though you can’t visit us in person, you’ll still be able to join in with all the usual Open Day activities. This will include course talks, Q&A sessions, campus tours, accommodation information, student finance support, personal statement guidance sessions and library tours - everything you'd expect to find at an Open Day, only delivered online instead.

Online tours

We're proud of our campus and normally, our Open Days feature a host of student ambassadors leading regular campus tours throughout the day.

For our Online Open Day experience in June, we'll be offering online tours so that you can get a feel for our campus without leaving your front door.

If you just can't wait till then, check out our video below for a quick look around campus:

Our location

Situated just 2km from Manchester city centre, we think we have the best of both worlds: plenty of green space around us with the hustle and bustle of the city just a 20-minute walk away. We also have great transport links, with our on-campus train station, Salford Crescent, connecting you to the city centre and beyond.

For our June Open Day you won't be joining us physically, but you can still explore all the reasons why we love our city and get a taste for life as a student with us.

Can't make our June Open Day?

Later in the year, we hope to be able to offer an on-campus Open Day, and anyone who joins us at the online event in June will be automatically invited.

Alternatively, you can register your interest for our later Open Days which are currently scheduled for Saturday 10 October and Saturday 7 November. We will contact you when bookings go live.

Open Day FAQs

How does the Online Open Day work?

About a week before the event, we’ll send you a link to the event hub where you’ll be able to see everything that’s happening and plan how you want to spend your day.

On the day you’ll check-in virtually and be directed to our website, where you will find all the activities taking place throughout the day. We know it’s not the same as an on-campus experience, but we’ll do our best to show you what we have to offer.

Can I come to a face-to-face event later in the year?

Yes, absolutely! If you join us in June, we’ll make sure we invite you on-campus as soon as we’re able to do that. Our next events are currently scheduled for Saturday 10 October and Saturday 7 November and we very much hope these will be able to go ahead as face-to-face events.

Who can attend an Open Day?

Our June Open Day is primarily aimed at those interested in 2021 study, but if you’re looking to start in 2020, or you’re already an applicant or offer-holder and fancy another look, you're more than welcome to attend.

What time does my event start?

Our Open Days normally run from 09:00 to 17:00, but you’ll receive more details after booking your place.

Can I bring family and friends?

Of course! Choosing a university is a big decision, so we’d absolutely encourage anyone who is supporting you to get involved and attend some of the sessions.

Do you have support for students with a disability?

You can let us know about your access requirements when you book onto our Open Days. We’ll then work with you to do everything we can to support you. You will also be able to have a one-to-one appointment with our disability and wellbeing team on the day.

If you would like to check our campus for its accessibility, we have worked closely with AccessAble (the leading provider of access information for disabled people in the UK) to produce an assessment of our campus and facilities.

This work has provided detailed information about our access; find out more about their assessment of our campus and facilities.

Find out more about accessibility on campus or contact us on enquiries@salford.ac.uk.

Please contact disability and learner support for study related support.

What tech do I need on the day?

For the best experience, we’d recommend you access the event using Google Chrome on a laptop or desktop computer. You don’t need a microphone or a camera.

An update on COVID-19

We are following the Government and Public Health England’s guidance on coronavirus closely, and as this is an ever-changing situation, we cannot currently say with certainty whether all of our upcoming events will be going ahead as scheduled.

Once you have booked or registered your interest in any of our events we will email you with updates, so please keep a close eye on your emails.
