Lecturer in Law (Practice) & Solicitor

Biography

I joined Salford as a Lecturer in Law (Practice) in August 2018 after completing my PhD at the University of Liverpool, funded by a scholarship from the Hodgson Trust. My doctoral research explored the lawfulness of the legal aid Exceptional Case Funding (ECF) scheme and the title of my thesis is ‘Obligations to provide civil legal aid and the European Convention on Human Rights: A socio-legal study of the Exceptional Case Funding scheme in England and Wales’. I have also been in practice as a solicitor since 2007 and specialise in housing law, having mainly acted for tenants funded by legal aid. I have worked in private practice and a Law Centre.
