Many of our courses offer built-in internships, work placements and live-briefs, giving you the chance to get real-world experience.

If you’re planning on pursuing an academic career, a research master's provides the groundwork for a PhD.

Do you want to become the authority on a subject? Join our thriving postgraduate community and produce research that changes people’s lives.

If you want to change career or get specialist knowledge in a new field, a postgraduate degree could be the perfect option for you.

Some postgraduate degrees give you a professional qualification, providing the knowledge and skills needed for your career.

How to get here

We are located just 2km from Manchester city centre and consequently have great transport links, regardless of whether you’re travelling from across Greater Manchester, across the UK or from further afield.

Our car parks are free for Open Day visitors, and you can view the campus map to see their locations. Closer to the day, we'll let you know where you need to check-in when you get here, and suggest which car park is best for you to use.

If you're planning to visit our MediaCityUK campus, we are running a free shuttle bus service between our main campus and MediaCityUK throughout the day. Use our Irwell Place car park and hop on the shuttle bus at Maxwell Hall. The journey takes approximately 15 minutes between the campuses.

The University does not have any parking available at MediaCityUK; if you do choose to drive here, you will need to pay to park.

Getting around campus

We know being in a new place can be a bit overwhelming and we’ll do our best to point you in the right direction based on the primary course you’ve chosen when you booked onto the Open Day.

A couple of weeks before the event, we’ll provide you with information on which check-in point to attend when you arrive, to ensure you’re as close to your course session as possible.

If at any point you’re struggling to find your way around while you’re here, our Student Ambassadors (sporting red t-shirts) will be all over campus and are happy to help you get your bearings.

Make yourself at home in our city

If after the Open Day, you want to get a feel for the city and its surrounding areas, there are plenty of things to see and do whilst you’re here.

The City of Salford is in the heart of Greater Manchester, with the University of Salford main campus just 2km from Manchester city centre.

You’ll be just a short walk from world-class music, sport, nightlife, food, shopping and culture, and you’ll also be joining one of the largest student communities in Europe, with around 100,000 students in total across Greater Manchester. It’s one of the most vibrant and diverse cities in the UK, with people from all backgrounds and countries coming here to live and study.

For detailed information of things to see and do in the cities, go to Visit Salford and Visit Manchester.

We’ve got a lot to boast about, so here’s a quick overview of why we love Salford and Manchester:
