South-East Asia scholarships

We are pleased to offer scholarships to high-achieving students from Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia and Myanmar, based on academic merit. Find out more about this scholarship and how you can apply. 

Scholarship details

This scholarship is worth £3,000. To be eligible you must be an offer holder starting a programme in 2018/19 or 2019/20.

Undergraduate applicants

Undergraduate applicants must achieve A level grades ABB or equivalent. Please below for equivalent qualifications:

Equivalent undergraduate qualifications

Indonesia

Diploma I (D1) with a grade of 80% or above

The successful completion of a recognised foundation year with a grade of 70% or above

Malaysia

ABB in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia

The Malaysian Matriculation Certificate (Matrikulasi) with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2/4.0 or above

Myanmar

Successful completion of a recognised foundation year with a grade of 70% or above 

Thailand

Successful completion of a recognised foundation year with a grade of 70% or above

Singapore

ABB in Singapore-Cambridge GCE  A  levels, or

A polytechnic certificate with a cumulative grade point average of 3.2/4.0 or above

Vietnam

Successful completion of a recognised foundation year with a grade of 70% or above

Postgraduate applicants

If you are a postgraduate applicant you must achieve a minimum of a second class upper degree and meet the conditions of your offer by the admissions deadline. Please see below for equivalent qualifications:

Indonesia

A bachelor's degree from recognised university with a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Malaysia

A bachelor's degree from recognised university with a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or higher

Myanmar

Successful completion of  a recognised pre-master's programme with a grade of 70% or above

Thailand

A bachelor's degree from recognised university with a grade point average of 3.0/4.0 or equivalent

Singapore

A minimum of a second class upper bachelor's degree from a recognised university

Vietnam

Bang Tot Nghiep Dai Hoc with a grade point average of 7.0/10 or above

How to apply

There is no separate application process for this scholarship. You will be assessed when you apply for your chosen programme of study. If you are successfully offered this scholarship, to receive the funding you must accept your offer of admission and pay your tuition fee deposit by the deadline specified.

Terms and conditions

You may apply for this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with our terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.
