PhD scholarships for China for the School of Arts and Media

To celebrate our creative work in China, our School of Arts and Media offers a scholarship at PhD level. The PhD Arts and Media China scholarship aims to support academic and creative opportunities between the University of Salford and China. The purpose of this scholarship is to support applicants in their research and the growth of sustainable academic partnerships and networks.

Scholarship details

This scholarship is worth from 10% to 70% of the overall tuition fee. 

Applications are open to new and current PhD students in our School of Arts and Media. 

These scholarships are available to postgraduate research students who can demonstrate an existing or potential contribution to the development of our international partnerships, particularly in China.

This contribution may include any or all of the following:

A member of staff or active graduate at a partner institution

Establishing relationships with potential partners

Representing or supporting the School of Arts and Media or its staff at meetings with partners

Undertaking research that has potential for application at partner institutions in China

Applicants must:

Be a Chinese national or of Chinese ethnicity

Have an offer of admission for a PhD programme or be a current student registered on a PhD programme

Have close links to a partner or potential partner institution in China

You may apply for this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with our terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.
