Criminology Clearing Places
Our criminology Clearing courses explore the themes of crime, deviance, justice, law, regulation and punishment – and the part they play in the construction, maintenance and disturbance of social norms. BSc (Hons) Criminology
On our BSc (Hons) Criminology degree, you’ll focus on the causes of crime and deviant behaviour and how this affects society. With an emphasis on hands-on learning, you will develop your analytical and critical thinking to explore crime as a social construct and start asking important questions, such as: what are the individual and societal causes of crime?
BSc (Hons) Criminology and Sociology
Interested in the links between social relationships, crime, and justice? Our BSc (Hons) Criminology and Sociology degree explores the nature of human relationships and how they can be influenced by crime and justice. You will study both historical and contemporary issues, ranging from the local to the global. Develop your understanding of the key conceptual issues involved in the study of society, crime and the criminal justice system.
BSc (Hons) Criminology with Counselling
Gain a thorough grounding in BSc (Hons) Criminology with Counselling – two disciplines that are vital to the criminal justice system. Through the combination of these two disciplines you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the causes of crime, how to tend to victims of crime, and how to reduce re-offending. Criminology studies the process of victimisation, the workings of the criminal justice system and the techniques for preventing crime. Counselling addresses some of the causes of offending, investigates restorative justice, and explores how to alleviate stress among those who are caught up in the criminal justice system.

Interested in social problems and how to solve them? Our BSc (Hons) Social Policy degree course is designed to help you understand the causes of societal issues and how policies are implemented to address them. On this course, you will develop an awareness and understanding of how to protect the wellbeing of citizens and reduce the social impact of key issues.
Today’s headlines are filled with social issues, including the cost-of-living crisis, unfordable housing and problems with Universal Credit.
