With an emphasis on hands-on learning, you will develop your analytical and critical thinking to explore crime as a social construct and start asking important questions, such as: what are the individual and societal causes of crime?

BSc (Hons) Criminology and Sociology

You will study both historical and contemporary issues, ranging from the local to the global. Develop your understanding of the key conceptual issues involved in the study of society, crime and the criminal justice system.

BSc (Hons) Criminology with Counselling

Gain a thorough grounding in BSc (Hons) Criminology with Counselling – two disciplines that are vital to the criminal justice system. Through the combination of these two disciplines you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of the causes of crime, how to tend to victims of crime, and how to reduce re-offending. Criminology studies the process of victimisation, the workings of the criminal justice system and the techniques for preventing crime. Counselling addresses some of the causes of offending, investigates restorative justice, and explores how to alleviate stress among those who are caught up in the criminal justice system.
